I began making images of the world around me at the age of nine when my dad gave me an old Voigtlander. Now I use a digital camera almost exclusively. I am always in awe over the infinite beauty and variety of nature. Some of my most joy-filled moments are those spent photographing simple details of a forest or a beach or a face.

I am often drawn to small scenes, textures, patterns, or intriguing juxtapositions that are easily passed without notice. Isolated in a photograph, the intricacies and beauty are more readily apparent. I love the challenge of expressing my way of seeing in images this way. It is gratifying when the results inspire curiosity, appreciation, or passion in others.
